Dodge Tomahawk Worlds Fastest Bike

The Dodge Tomahawk is a Viper V-10 based motorcycle, a 500 horsepower engine with four wheels beneath it. The engine breathes through twin throttle bodies mounted right up front. (That's what the two round things above the front tires are).

Chrysler sold nine replicas through Neiman Marcus, for up to $555,000 each. The motorcycles cannot be legally driven on public roads. A Chrysler spokesman told they were meant as rolling sculptures, but they can probably still be driven on private roads.

The Dodge Tomahawk can reach 60 miles an hour in about 2.5 seconds, and has a theoretical top speed of nearly 400 mph. Each pair of wheels is separated by a few inches and each wheel has an independent suspension. Bernhard said four wheels were necessary to handle the power from the engine.
Pin It now!

Looking at how the driver can't really hold on well, I wonder how they can withstand an airflow produced from 400mph by just holding the handles...

You need to look into the Y2K Jet bike. Top speed as yet unknown but probably faster than the Dodge.

This thing scares the hell outta me! I was always amazed that they could get Vipers to go so fast, now they've just attached the engine to wheels and the thing is faster than any road vehicle in history.

I hope they tweak the bike design a little bit and turn it into the superbike from Akira. That's the only thing they could do to make this more bad-ass.

(don't try to tell me there have been faster vehicles. I'm talking internal-combustion-engine production machines. Land-jets like the Thrust SSC don't count)

It's not even a motocycle!!! Motorcycles can only have 2 wheels, this has 4. That makes it anything but a motorcycle. It's essentially a car that just happens to be shaped by a motorcylce. Same as if you built a car to look like a boat, but it could not go in the water and could only drive on land. You wouldn't call that a boat, you'd call it a car. So why the hell is anyone calling this a motorcycle!

Riders of this bike are called organ donors.

Ha ! I have to agree with punk80. A motorcycle should have two wheels.

Using the same analogy he did - but taking it a step further - if you made a car that looked like a boat, yet COULD float, you still would not call it a boat- it would be an amphibious vehicle.

It' doesn't seem like a car to me , either. . .there's never been a car that you could straddle , as far as I know. maybe it's a really skinny street quad ?

One concearn for male riders.... where are your nads supposed to fit?? Needs a hole or something in the seat else you'd be lying on them. Ouch!

The term "Cycle" can be used for just about any vehicle. For example. Bicycle, tricycle, motorcycle. So, what everybody is used to seeing is motorized-bicycles, or Motorcycles. Some may have even seen motorized-tricycles, Trikes. This is a motorized-quadracycle. A motorized cycle with four wheels. If you wish to retaliate, please bring proof, so that I may state that I am wrong, if I am.

the y2k only ways 500 pounds and has a helicopter engine inside. the dodge ways 1500 pounds. so the power to rate ratio is probably close between them

hey toy boxes, no one know how fast the y2k can go get facts straight

The dodge tomahawk is a concept bike. Any top speed reference are ESTIMATES only. It is very unlikely that anyone will ever test the vehicle, due to safety concerns and the price of the Tomahawk itself. Dodge has expressed interest in one day taking it to the Bonneville salt flats, but as of yet has not.

Powered by a Rolls Royce Allison gas turbine engine, the Y2K has demonstrated over 300 hp and 425 ft/lbs of torque on the Dyno Jet 200, and has been clocked at 227 mph. It has also been recognized by Guinness World Records as the "Most Powerful Motorcycle Ever to Enter Series Production".

To be honest, its like comparing a fish to a coffee cup. They are both entirely diferent entities and should both be appreciated for what they are, not compared to each other.

peace

MAN !!! What a machine. Yes, there may be better and faster bikes [if you want to call it a bike], BUT this is one heck of an example of great craftsmanship and concept -unique. Too bad I can only dream of it and thats exactly what I am going to do.
And, I will ride in on the roads, freeways etc and everyone is going to stop and stare--- In my dreams naturally..

Fuel is the adrenaline of any car, truck or engine. Thus, it is every vehicle owner's wish to enhance the fuel of their car and save more of it as well. With this in mind, the most innovative fuel-saving tool in the automotive industry was conceptualized and created: the Tornado Fuel saver. An automotive air channeling tool that creates a swirling air motion, the Tornado Fuel Saver allows the air to move in a faster and more efficient way by whirling air around corners and bends. Hence, more fuel is saved.

Ahhh Jonas. I don't think the Apollo 11 is the worlds fastest bike, maybe because IT'S A ROCKET?!

Anyway this is the fastest bike 'recorded' in the world. So why don't they take there time and TEST this Y2K Jet Bike to see what its got and if there to chicken then i'll go buy one (if there still being made) and test it myself.(i just need to remember to bring a parachut to stop.) But that's also cheap the Y2K has 'Jets' and the Tomahawk doesn't.

Oh, Punk80 and Sly Hoax. It's a an bike, anphibious bike/car, an car with no top or airbags( i call them punching bags, 'cause the cars hitting you for crashing.) whatever you call it. its a bike because the production called it a bike and you ride it like a bike so you guys are ruled out.

i would like to thanks him who had design this bike. how butifull! punk80 coment it thet, it is car, i would like to call it car + bike, because like car, it has four wheels & bike it has not a steering as we know y2k can reach 25omph.which ,who can with stand air flow produced from the 250mph, can also bear 400mph speed.its my one of the favrot bike till now & favrot engeneer who had made it.
