Tattooed Women

The whole field of tattoos for women is growing at a tremendous rate. If you think back even 20 years ago tattoos for women were not all that popular and most of the women getting them were keeping them covered up. However times have definitely changed and tattoo designs have really advanced at a tremendous rate. Today's tattoo have more brilliant colors and are a far cry from your grandfathers Hawaiian girl tattoo on his forearm.

It used to be that women would get an occasional rose or name tattoos on their breast or some well hidden spot. However with current fashion trends there are tons of cute tattoo designs for women out there are women are now getting tattoos at an amazing rate.

Women's tattoo designs and placement have also changed with this new growth. No longer are women getting simple tattoos that they keep well hidden. Women are now getting cute tattoo designs done and placing them in more visible places.

Some of the most popular items to get tattoos of are:

1. Shooting Star Tattoos
2. Butterfly Tattoos
3. Unicorn Tattoos
4. Angel Tattoos
5. Fairy Tattoos
6. Dragonfly tattoos
7. Flower design tattoos

The most popular places for women to get tattoos done are:

1. lower back tattoo (especially popular recently with the whole hip hugger jeans)

2. ankle tattoos

3. front side of the hips (again hip hugger jeans have made this more popular)

4. butt cheek left or right

5. Belly button area
Pin It now!

I think that "back in the day' woman were either to scared or worried about how it would look like in 10 years time or more!I have a tattoo but with my family it would be like a fatal sin plus the fact that i am only 16 would make it worse so i have a very small one but also in a hidden pace.Personally i think that woman shouldnt be afraid and get themselves "branded"

Tattoos used to signify you were a prisoner. It is something that I regret having done as well as my girlfriends. Mine was done by a top artist but it looks crappy now. Just another stupid fad that will pass soon.

There is nothing individual about tattoos these days, it is just a sign of people being sheep following other sheep. If the fashion was to cut your right ear off, many of these types would do that too. It's the way our society is degenerating to a weaker and more dumbed down mentality. There is nothing attractive or cool about it. Pretty hilarious though.

You Anonymous commenters SUCK! If you regret your tattoo then you made a poor, uneducated choice in the first place. Secondly, tattoos are a form of expression not some stupid fad - maybe your choice of tattoo was modeled after some stupid fad and thus you're the idiot for following! And if your tattoo was supposedly done by a top artist then it shouldn't look like crap unless you're like eighty. It is obvious that you two are the degenerates here, not people with an appreciation for what tattoos actually mean.

Ha Ha. A passing fad? You mean the entire known history of the human race? Weird...

To anonymous who said "If fashion was to cut your right ear off many of these types would do that too"
I guess that means that when women decided to start shaving under thier arms, you probably fought that too. Or how about bathing?
Sorry...I disagree with you. It is the most individual form of expression one could make. It shows the love of their lives, and it adds color to anyone who leads a colorful life.
(Besides, there was a study done by a University that rated tattooed women and how adventurous they were in bed, and they really out did those with-out tattoos because tattooed girls are more adventurous, and have a better comfort level with their bodies :)

Hey THere DamCoolPics-

I see you have copyright information about the bottom and a contact email address. However the whole text under your pics is copyrighted and being used illegally. It is an article I wrote back in 2005 and was orginally published at ezinearticles. To republish it you are supposed to leave in the resrouce box at the bottom. ALthough I am about 100% sure you know that and dont really care. YOu will probably just delete my comment and move on. But it would sure be cool if you published the resrouce box also and stopped stealing content from people.

Your not the only one as the article has over 200 pages in google results so it has been copied a lot and many times without the resource box so no worries. That is just one of my many articles. But don't put the copyright info at the bottom and then blatantly break it.

I had always planned to get tattoos ever since I can remember - they genuinely mean something to me and there's no way I would get them if they didn't.

One thing that did put me off though I have to admit, is how popular they are now, there's an entire youth culture of lower back tats or a little star on the inner wrist, a meaningless tribal to look macho?! I don't like the fact that people get them because it's now the norm - like something to do before you turn 25.

I love tattoos, but not all tattoos. I have never been a follower of trends and it's a real shame that something so meaningful to so many people has become this fashionable and everyday.

If you want to be anti tattoo thats ok, dont get one. But to say that its a fad or fashionable is kind of funny seeing as tattoos have been done for THOUSANDS of years. Sorry but this 'fad' will not be passing soon. I got my first tat 15 years ago and dont regret it, and if properly done I think that tattoos enhance a womans sexiness. Big thumbs up for ink.

To anyone who is Anonymous: You SUCK!! I served In Nam' with the Navy Seabees and I'm proud of my tattoos! I earned every one of them(6 total)and if you did not want to get "branded" or you think it's "a stupid fad" you don't know what your talking about!! Also you should have not been so stupid to get them in the first place!

I DO NOT want to hear "well I was young and stupid" or "I got them due to peer pressure". You know that drinking enough beer will get you drunk, and cigs will give you cancer so don't reply with a stupid remark! You done it because you WANTED TO, end of story!!

calm down people if you dont like tatoos why are you on this site? go look at another site. I have three tatoos and i love, them even after all the years i have had them. I now plan to get many more.
The main reason i want more is that i have thought it through and grew to love the design and where i will place it on my body, if you regret it later it might be that you never thought it over properly. But hey enjoy them anyway its not the end of the world.

There will always be those people who don't agree with or even don't like tattoos. Those people have the choice to decry tattoos and try to cling to anything negative about them, or they can just sit back and respectfully decline to get a tattoo of their own. I personally find them to be a really wonderful and unique art form. As far as their 'new' found popularity, being the proud owner of a tattoo myself (and more hopefully soon)I try to consider that maybe I would have been too worried about the stigmas of being a tattooed woman to get one if it wasn't for those women who paved the way. I won't ever really know, but I still appreciate those before me who were brave enough to do what they wanted to do and ink up!

I don't think tattoos are a fad.

Too many people of all ages getting them for them to be called a fad.

Tattoos have been around in many ancient cultures for thousands of years and are a way of life for them, and there are so many differnt types and techniques for tattoos now days, and everyday there a new innovation with them. I have over 20 tattoos and none of which i regret i love all them and most are my own are which is even more amazing that i have the ability to be a walking moving canvas for my own art, just a mind bending concept for me. And for women with tattoos they are the sexiest thing out there, i think all women are beautiful in there own way but to be able to add to your beauty and become a walking piece of art is just amazing. also i love the fact that it shows confidence, and i believe more women need confidence and to be comfortable in there own skin.

Recently I found some foto's of women with great tattoos on their faces. I could not stop looking at them.
I'm sure that I will get my wife to get such a great tattoo too, before she becomes my ex-wife. I want her to have something to remember me by!
