Sleevefaces

Sleevefaces is a compendium of pictures of people strategically posed behind album covers to match the photo on the cover. Some of the photos are freaking hilarious. A couple are NSFW, mostly due to the content on the album covers, so be advised!

Who is the artist? These aren't just "damn cool pics", but a damn cool art piece- the artist should be given credit. I'd love to know who did this work!

I just wanted to say that I love the concept, and now plan on raiding my LPs to see what I can find.

Nice how you left the NSFW warning at the bottom of the article..

Fantastic pics, extremely creative (particularly the Nugent/Wall one) but don't you think the warning should come BEFORE the article?

Amazing assemblage of pictures!

I'd like to add a pic, if I may. Here's a Vincent Gallo shot from 2004:

This is great... albeit a bit similar to a feature that they've been doing in MAD Magazine for a few years now.

Why are so many people speaking foreign languages when the internet was invented in the united states of america?

Anonymous said...

Hi BinLaden, this is the so famous globalization. They wrote in portuguese from Brazil! And Yes... They speak portuguese, not spanish! Wow! I imagine you're a quite ignorant. And about this post... Yess, very cool and creative!

Great photos. Very creative. This is my first time visiting this site. I e-mailed the link to my daughter (she goes to High Tech High Media Arts and loves photography). But I regretted that when I read some of the comments in Portuguese (which we also speak) from anonymous. We found them vulgar and improper.

I have been meaning to read this and just never got a chance. Its an issue that Im very interested in, I just started reading and Im glad I did. Youre a wonderful blogger, 1 of the most effective that Ive seen. This weblog undoubtedly has some facts on topic that I just wasnt aware of. Thanks for bringing this stuff to light.

My brother and I did this as kids and laughed our butts off, so we made an iPhone app for it! It's called Sleevefacer and you can find it here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sleevefacer/id471522760?mt=8

Just choose some album artwork, line it up and snap a photo. It's simple, fun and very addicting! Check out some of the shots in the Sleevefacer Gallery here: www.sleevefacer.com
