Gun Blows Up in Face

Looks like they had a plugged barrel. Probably got some mud clogged in the end of the barrel and when the bullet could not exit the pressure blew the end of the barrel apart splitting it.

Remember most high powered hunting rifles operate around 50,000 to 65,000 PSI which is not trivial.

In the end, he was not hurt so the weapon handled the problem gracefully.
