They may resemble pandas, buffalos and camels - but these animals are actually poodles, all competing for the title of top dog at 'creative grooming' shows across the U.S.
Something of a canine fancy dress contest, it takes just two hours for owners to transform their pets, which are sheared and coloured to achieve each look.
Some of the most imaginative ideas have included a snail, an American football player and even Pirates of the Caribbean character Jack Sparrow.

poor animals. what is wrong with you people?!? sick.
stupid asshole americans... who else would have done it... get a fucking life.. or maybe even a brain
Poor dogs :( and don't blame all Americans... I can call out people in your country(whatever it may be) for doing something ridiculous.
Sometimes people can be f*king stupids..
this should be forbidden, and people doing it prosecuted. get a life, get a brain, get some sympathy for animals
Cool, but sick!
wtf is wrong with people. do people actually think this is funny or cool?
This is not such a big deal. Many show dogs actually enjoy being groomed; they appreciate the attention. As long as the paints are non-toxic this is a safe (but weird) hobby.
The real tragedy is the dogs who have bits chopped off so that they conform to someone's idea of what the breed is supposed to look like.
why not just use stuffed toys, and let poodles be their natural selves. i'm sure the dogs enjoy the attention, but this is so twisted.
These paints are NOT TOXIC to animals. They do not harm them in anywhere. Get off your high horses and quit your fucking whining. Who the fuck cares about painting a poodle?
its so cute :)
though i think, dogs might have felt after that all bearing like a nudist with cloth... :D
the poodles look great. How creative and funny.
