The Missing Cat Poster

If you want something done right, you should do it yourself. The last thing you want to do is give it to David Thorne, especially if it has anything to do with a cat. Shannon asked him to make a poster about her lost cat. What she got was not exactly what she had in mind.

Having worked with designers for a few years now, I would have assumed you understood, despite our vague suggestions otherwise, we do not welcome constructive criticism. I don’t come downstairs and tell you how to send text messages, log onto Facebook and look out of the window. I am willing to overlook this faux pas due to you no doubt being preoccupied with thoughts of Missy attempting to make her way home across busy intersections or being trapped in a drain as it slowly fills with water. I spent three days down a well once but that was just for fun.

There's a tiny bit of humor there, but overall, what a douche-bag.

What an asshole. If for whatever reason he didn't want to do it, why not just say "no" or even pretend he never got the email? The first message was sent at 9:15 am, the whole ordeal ended at 1:03 pm. If he's a designer, or just someone savvy enough with any graphics program, it'd have taken no more than ten minutes to do that, and most likely even less.

I truly hope this is fake. As someone who did lose a cat a few years back, someone acting like this would have pissed me off A LOT.

There is a LOT of humor in there!

If the lady knows how to send e-mails/attach pics to e-mails she should know how to stick a photo in word and print it out.
She is just being lazy and wanting other people to solve her problems.

I hope to meet David Thorn in person. Very soon. You'll recognize me David when the world goes black. Somebody that mean to a friend deserves to be KTFO.

this was the least funny thing i've seen on this site. that guy is a total douche

My cat went missing last week and I would love David to do the missing posters. Even the lazy fat fecker doesn't come home I could look at the artwork and smile.

That is bloody hilarious!!! I cried reading this... Oh, the dark humor...

And by the way, I think the first poster was really cool. She could have done what she wanted in 2 min on Word or Powerpoint...

Jeez, people. David Thorne is one of the funniest and most notorious crank "emailers" on the Internet.

Check out his website:

He's done loads of other prank emails.

This was amazing. I don't know if I have ever laughed so much before from this site. The reason I find it so funny is because I assume it is fake I doubt this could be real. I doubt anybody would ask somebody else to make a poster nor would somebody have the patience she did with all of his posters and remarks.

I have to agree with Ana.

THIS IS BLOODY HILARIOUS! As for Ziggs, the guy who said "You'll recognize me David when the world goes black", GOD, COULD YOU BE A LITTLE BIT CHEESIER? lol...

This is really funny, you guys shouldn't take it to the personal side.

Judging by the way the whole thing is written, i'm going to be that d***head and say it's fake.

But if it is fake or not, that's comedy gold!

you people are overreacting. she was obviously capable of doing it since she was able to reply to so many emails, but she was just to lazy to do it

Please tell us if you ever find Missy the cat! I hope she is okay.

@platypus and Jollino, how hard would it have been for the cat owner to go into word, type "lost cat" ,"phone number" and attach a picture. it could have been done in 30 seconds if she wasn't a lazy sack of shit

I don't usually find David Thorne stuff funny, but this one had tears rolling down my face.

It seems the "cat people" posting comments have no sense of humour - if the owner was that concerned she'd have done the poster herself.

I have three cats and I am sure I will end up being one of the crazy cat ladies with 20 cats by the end of it.
That said, this was flipping hilarious! And I love the picture of Missy with the red hat... :)

I like how she cares so much about her cat and was up all night crying but offers no reward and won't even make her own damn poster.

Freakin' hilarious! I cracked up laughing after the first picture and continued to do so until I was in tears by the end.

This was so funny. Wow. I laughed the whole time. So. Funny.

LOL hilarious!! he should have kept going! If she doesn't know how to put together a picture of a cat and a bunch of text above and below the pic (something a 7yr old can do), not only does she deserve to be humiliated in a post like this, but last minute is all she deserves.

Mean? Are you F***ing kidding me? She sent an e-mail asking a stranger to do something simple and stupid like he had no work, like he had no life.

Imagine if decided spend his day making poster of cats for strangers for free.

I can't believe they let you guys use the web. You gotta be kidding me.

Very funny, btw.

I laughed until I was weak! I've seen a couple of his other pieces of work too, my favorite thus far being "Please design a logo for me".

look people, especially you whining cat lovers (ahem platypus and Jollino) you should all untwist your panties and laugh a little. Actually, you should laugh a lot, because this email exchange is undeniably funny. You too Ziggs. violence is not the answer

Anonymous said...

I think its hilarious that you guys have taken it so personally.. you don't know her, and you don't know her cat...soooo untwist the panties a bit and laugh.

I seriously had never laughed so hard lol. This is definately something I'm going to remember and show my friends whenever they need a good laugh!

oh! and if its real.. that chick is freakin lazy as hell. People in this day and age can put text with a picture on SOMETHING.
