The probability is not 10%. You can't multiply 5 matches by 2 possible outcomes per match... 1 in 10... so 10%.. wrong. It is 2^5, 1 in 32.. 3%!!!

Considering that Paul's species is presumed to be colorblind, the "yellow" theory doesn't hold up much.

i can't believe this stupid octopus got so much publicity. just shows how dumb people are. as if an octopus actually has knowledge of what football is. no matter how many times it happens, coincidence is still coincidence.

Thanks Dino! I was so upset when I saw the math. Off the top of my head I figured it would have been 3.125% I just was trying to figure how they calculated 10%. All the Equations I came up with wouldn't equal 10%!

For those who don't know how to get the 3.125%
Odds of guessing 1 game right= 50%(.50)
multiply that number by itself for however many times you want to get a correct guess. That's the odds of getting all of them right.
0.50 * 0.50 * 0.50 * 0.50 * 0.50 = 0.03125 * 100 = 3.125%
