Before becoming involved in politics, Hitler applied several times to The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, hoping to further his artistic career. He was turned down each time, and was forced to live on the streets, selling paintings to tourists and exchanging them in restaurants for meals.

you really do not have idea what you are talking about :S He was a good artist , but not so good to get into viena's art school which is why the hate against Jews started to grow. Apparently as large number of Jews were being accepted in school whereas Hittler was not...
and besides, hitler was not german either, he was from austria..

Ok some of you commentors have the wrong idea.
1. Someone said the jews deserved it because they were rejected Hitler and that's why they were killed. Ok, first of all: When did they reject Hitler? You mean the school of art in Vienna? Uh, yeah, he wasn't an antisemite because of that. He was an antisemite because he idolized Henry Ford who was an antisemite and even wrote a book called "The International Jew". He hated Jews because they were blamed for all of Germany's problems. He didn't even give the order for the holocaust. They way his government worked was he didn't give orders and people did what they thought he would want because they got rewarded if they guessed right. He didn't order the holocaust, but people did it because, just like them, he was an antisemite who though the Jews were bringing down the human race. If other people didn't hate jews, the holocaust wouldn't have happed. I mean, at that time the Jews were already being prosecuted against, they wanted out of Germany and Germany wanted them out. But there wasn't anywhere for them to go because EVERYONE ELSE HATED THEM. And they weren't all rejected by them either, they were just blamed for WW1 and people thought they were trying to take over the world because of this STUPID BOOK.
2. Someone said that the jews were trying to take over the world and that they were high officials. No, the Jews were blamed for WW1. They may have held high positions but in a political rally (a result of this stupid book) a bunch of Jewish politicians were KILLED. IT's not EVEN POSSIBLE FOR THEM TO HAVE CONTINUED HOLDING HIGH OFFICES because people HATED THEM. There was this stupid FAKE book called "The Learned Elders of Zion" which was PROVEN TO BE A HOAX. It was probably written by the Ohkrana, the Russian secret police who's leader (Pietor) is known to have forged many authentic looking legal documents. The supposed Elders of Zion conference is actually from a FICTIONAL PLAY, and is NOT REAL. I will repeat: IT WAS PROVEN TO BE FALSE, IT IS NOT REAL.
3. Someone said that Jews need to stop bitching because other ethnic minorities have also been pursecuted against. I agree in part. Yes, there have been other genocides but people have been blaming every problem on the Jews every since the Romans claimed they killed Jesus (NOT TRUE). In Russia when the economy was failing and farmers were poor, they were allowed to just go out and kill Jews and the police didn't do anything.
Also your beloved Hitler is the number 2 or 3 mass murderer. He not only hated on Jews but pretty much any ethnic minority (gypsies, gay people and I'm sure asians if there were any around). I agree, he made Germany powerful and fixed many economic problems but he wasn't a good person.

some of these are fine works...he wasn't a great artist but with some professional guidance and inspiration he could have done some really good work, who knows? The point of these paintings that you should be aware of is that the man had aesthetic instincts that were very healthy and beautiful. Women, flowers, dogs, civilization... Politics came later on and who knows what went into his thinking entirely...anti-semtism certainly was 1/5 of his thought, but much more as well influenced him.
I think this art is beautiful. I wonder why art school didn't get him in. I wish he didn't take just one opinion and not keep on making art.
