I am from Iran, batman is not banned actually there are lots of batman dolls in Iran. About harry potter, there are translated books about harry potter. But, the Hollywood movies are not usually presented in Iran because of some copyright issues and sanction. Moreover, Gmail is open and people usually use anti-filter software to open facebook web site. Besides, it is not banned to have pets. But you cannot bring them to the street or parks

I am iranian too and i can say that more than half the things mentioned here arent banned in iran although they may not be culturally accepted...

Yeah, a few of these items are definitely banned, but a lot of these aren't simply banned as previous commenters pointed out.

It's like saying French brie cheese is banned in the US, when it's more because the US doesn't allow unpasteurized dairy imports.

You're spinning it and it's a shame.
